The Opera Canada Awards: The Rubies 2012

As a dedicated supporter of the arts Paula will donate one of her original works of art “September” from her Four Last Songs collection, to Opera Canada to be used as a prize at their annual fundraiser The Ruby Awards, celebrating Canada’s top Opera stars.

A year before his death in 1948, Richard Strauss composed the sublime “Four Last Songs”, expressing a calm acceptance of the inevitability of his own death. The songs meditate on life, death, and the transition into “the magic circle of the night.”

To highlight this prize at the Gala fundraiser International Opera sensation Elza van den Heever will perform the song which inspired Paula’s stunning work of art.
