Carmen ~ 60″ x 48″ ~ Oil on Canvas

Toronto City Opera
50th Anniversary Season

Recognizing Paula’s artistic talent the TCO commissioned her to create a work of art inspired by the opera Carmen. Their hope was that this work would be a signature piece for the promotion of this production and their 50th anniversary season. In preparing to perform Carmen with TCO, Paula immersed herself in the music and was inspired to create this painting. Paula’s love and deep understanding of music along with her artistic talent, have allowed her to translate music into visual symbolic images that are rich in colour, form, and meaning.
